Hello
UK
FEASBY, Ronald - Pilot II - 634505 - the accident was reported in several newspapers. The Manchester Evening News of December 27th 1947 reported that the Hornet crashed 20 feet below the summit of a 1045 foot hill top at Rossendale after suffering an engine failure. A verdict of Accidental death was recorded by the Coroner.
The Nottingham Journal of December 23rd 1947, which also reported the accident of Bernard Parsons in the same article (see below), reported that the Hornet crashed on a hillside at Stackstead, Bacup, after skimming nearby rooftops, and crashing into a wall before exploding.
PARSONS, Bernard Peter A. - Pilot IV - 1811222 - the Nottingham Journal article reported that the Harvard crashed into a carpenter's shop at Stiffkey, Norfolk, some 20 yards from the pilot's home. Two people were injured.
HAMILTON, James - Sgt - 632335 - struggling with him without an age or N.o.K. on the CWG entry.
WEST, Harold David - Sgt - 650408 - the National Probate Calendar records that he died at The Base Hospital, Beverley, Yorkshire.
Regards
Simon
I was sure I replied on this?
Anyway, for Hamilton,
http://www.rafcommands.com/forum/sho...473#post145473
Burial register shows him to be 42 years old and the death register entry makes no mention of him being in or formerly in the RAF. Occupation is given as Solicitors Clerk. Parents George and Catherine Hamilton
Died at Western Infirmary, Glasgow
Cause of death is something I cannot fathom but also "Post operative Shock", but natural causes for the purposes of this record.

Hi Dennis
Hamilton suffered from a duodenal ulcer so probably died following an operation on it.
