    Default Pilot I.D

    Hi,

I have tried but must admit defeat!

Trying to ID the following pilot on 218 Squadron

    Sgt Preston 565428.

Also if a flight sergeant pilot has reverted to his basic trade, what exactly does this mean?

    TIA

RAF interwar NCO pilots who were lucky enough to be chosen and qualified to be pilots Originally had a trade say rigger or WOp etc and were kept pilots for a fixed number of years (I cannot remember the exact term but it may be 5 or 7 years) after this period they were sent back to their original trade
