    Default Lorenz blind approach system

    Hi,

the loss card of Stirling III BK807 of 75 Squadron, lost on 12.6.1943, states that the a/c had been equipped with "Lorenz", the blind approach system.

My question is, if it can be assumed that all a/c in that period had been equipped with this system?

I also wonder were the two systems, giving the signals from the station, had been installed. Is there any map of a station in which this can be seen?

    Thanks.

    Best wishes.

    Marcel

There is quite a good description/pictures of the system (known as Standard Beam Approach by the RAF) in this link...

    I hope it is useful
