No 5 (Bristol) Aircraft Acceptance Park, in March 1918 was based at Filton.

    I think 5 AAP is 5 Aircraft/Aeroplane Acceptance Park

Btw are you sure the prop is not from a Bristol Fighter rathe than BE2c is it a2 or 3 or 4 blade prop?

    Gents

RAF Ia engine was fitted to some RAF Factory BE.2 aircraft. Don't see that engine listed for the BE.2b Bristol Fighter.

Ok thanks must be a unit 'hack' then as all the aircraft I can find assigned to 5AAP were Bristol Fighters I assume they were built locally at Filton and then accepted into RFC service at the co-located 5AAP

I have a copy on Uwin's Service record it mentions a flying accident on 14th Feb 1917 in France in which his leg was injured he was with "EF No 1 A Depot" ? at the time

    Cas Form 5th Feb 1917

He must of been quite seriously hurt as he does not return to flying duties til August 1917 (2 TDS) but only what I would term 'light duties'

    This makes it this one

The Western Daily Press - Friday 08 March 1918 had a report on the War Bond Week - Though It does not mention Uwin. It mentions that Major Hooper RFC Officer Commanding at Filton Aerodrome flew a "Bristol Fighter" with a local Rotary Club Member T Percival Rogers on a leaflet dropping mission

Thanks for the extra info. I think a BE.2C is still making more sense than a Bristol Fighter, considering the stamping and four blade arrangement, Paul.

Ive also joined The Great War Forum as suggested by Brian, so hopefully that will aid with clarification!

maybe one of these (all I could find with "82" as a serial)
the fact it called "82" to me means it was prob around along time as hack and may be one of the 3 below with no known service history
