Default 82 Sqn RAF - 4 Jan 1942 loss with RCAF pilot DW Beirnes

Pilot RCAF Sgt (or F/Sgt) R/61113 Donald Wood Beirnes, lost on 4 January 1942 while flying for 82 Sqn RAF, his Blenheim IV being ferried from Egypt to Malta failed to arrive at destination.
I am seeking the aircraft registration number and squadron code if available, crew members and circumstances of loss if ever discovered.
    Cheers, Frank

I can't find any evidence that Donald Wood Biernes RCAF was awarded a DFM.

Hptm Rolf Jung, Kdr. Stab I./NJG 2, claimed a Blenheim south of Malta on 4 January, 1942 (Ref: W. Bock NJG 2 f.207).
