Default Meaning of 'C' and 'X' as 'Reason' for postings?

A Fitter IIE that I am researching for a friend is posted after 2 1/2 years in the Middle East to HE 25 Jan 44.
On 9 Feb 44 he is posted to 190 Squadron - 'C' being entered in the 'Reason' column of his service record.
On 20 Feb 44 he is posted to 6190 Servicing Echelon - 'X' being entered in the 'Reason column of his service record.

I am aware of the connection between 190 Squadron and 6190 SE but what does the C & X indicate?

    TIA,
    Errol

Errol, I believe X indicates surplus to establishment. Regards, Terry
