    Default Training flight "Goggles Test"

Hi all, I would like to ask if anybode came across such a non-operational flight recorded as "Goggles Test"? I have seen it un summer 1944 done by 3 pilots in one day.
What does it mean? My only idea is that they were allocated new type of fyling goggles and they simply went to fly with theM,

Any ideas would be much appreciated

    TIA

    Hi Pavel

I wonder if it refers to an Instrument Flying Test, where the pilot wore tinted goggles so he could see the instruments in the aircraft but not out through the canopy.

Hi Malcom, very interesting indeed - I have never heard about this. I know only version with the fabric hood.
Anyway I have forgot to mention in my original post it was a Spitfire squadron so it seems to me quite dangerous?

    Hi Pavel

Indeed the exercise needs to be carried out with a safety pilot.

I think so Malcolm. Anyway thank you for bringing this matter to my attention, I have learned something new I have never heard before! I have already found a picture of such a goggles on the internet.

    So my amended question remains:
"I would like to ask if anybody came across such a non-operational flight recorded as "Goggles Test"? I have seen it in summer 1944 done by 3 Spitifre pilots in one day."

    TIA
