    Default Halifax III MZ509

    On August 26, 1944 this Hali, MZ509 piloted by A. Pitzek of 431 Sq crashed on takeoff from Membury after a tire blew, causing a swing in which both u/c collapsed, skidded along into a row of gilders and catching fire. There were 24 aircrew onboard with all their gear. If anyone wants the accident report, with all aircrew, I can send.
