Appreciate a lookup for these two. Curious to know if they were assigned to 206 Sqn or 1402 Met Flight in October 1942.
TIA.
Robert
Update: I see from a Forum posting that FH407 was with 1402 Flight when it was lost in December 1942: http://www.rafcommands.com/forum/sho...-FH407&p=23750

Many thanks, Richard.
Both were with 1402 Flight at that time.

Followup question: FH407 survived the war (error: should read AE586 - robstitt), to be struck off charge in September 1947. It's Form 78 says it was 'SOLD TO LUNZER.COY.'
I assume this was a scrap metal company. Can anyone confirm?

Hi Robert, If the crew were lost on the Bismuth how come FH407 was sold as scrap........or am I losing it?
Regards
Tony K
Hi Tony:
No, it's me! It was AE586 that was sold for scrap in 1947 after serving with 287 Sqn, 289 Sqn, 1428 Flt, 1402 Flt and HQ ATA.
I'll correct the earlier post.

BTW, the reason I asked is that both Hudsons were flown by Plt Off Clair Morrill Waterbury and was trying to confirm if he was with 206 Sqn or 1502 Flt at the time as, according to his logbook, he was flying both Fortresses as second pilot and Hudsons as captain.

Hi Rob
have you got his log book? or a copy? Does it include the summer of 1945, when he was apparently flying for the US Embassy flight around Europe?
