    Default Mission Codenames

Having been through a number of squadron ORBs I have become familiar with some of the terms used and whilst looking at 83 Squadron I noticed they did a lot of Gardening missions (mining) and dropped assorted vegetables on various fruit and veg locations. However two knew mission types cropped up which I had not seen before

    1) Ploughing
    2) Roving

I assume their code names are descriptive of sorts but I couldn't figure out what they actually meant.

Unrelated, I also think I came across a bit where airmen were being butt tested but couldn't find it again and in any event I suspect that is what my brain thought it said rather than what it actually said :)

    PNK,
Butt testing was probably just routine weapons training/practice (with whatever weapon, and on whatever range).
On the other hand, one of the more 'interesting' tasks that could be set - by the SWO - for Defaulters, was "De-Leading the Butts"!
    Done both!

Not sure what health and safety would say about handling lead these days.
