    Default Service records abbreviations

I have a copy of the service record of an airman sent to Canada for aircrew training but, unfortunately, cannot identify some of the entries.

    1. In July 1942 he is sent to 9 ITW (Stratford -on-Avon) and four months later goes to 1 (or I) S.S. He remains there for four months but what/where is this.

    2. He later attends No 1 Central Navigation School at RCAF Station Rivers in Canada for four months - July to October 1943, his next posting being to 2 'M' O (or D). He remains there for three months, but I cannot find where or what it is.

I'd appreciate any advice you can offer.
