    Default BQ-B2 photo help

    Hi all, new here.

    Im after some help, please.

So for Christmas for my partner I would like to get a framed photo of a Lancaster bomber and add some details about her grandad.

He was a FL and from what I can see only did two missions for some reason. (I say only... Can’t imagine how they must of felt).

Id really like an original photo of a BQ-B2 or E2 bomber..... if this is possible?
    he flew on E2 - NG132 and B2 - NF932.

Also could any one tell me what A flight, B flight and C flight stands for?

Fingers crossed you can help me out...

    Thanks,

    Michael

    Hi Michael,

Lancaster NG132 was lost to an intruder on the 17 March 1945 while with 550 Sqn and crashed at Withernsea sea front with six of the crew being killed. NF932 collided with a 300 Sqn Lancaster while taking off for Dresden on 13 February 1945. So probably not much chance of a photo Iím afraid.

Squadrons usually divided the Squadron aircraft up into two or three flights, hence A flight, B flight and C flight.

    Regards,

    John.

    Hello,
'Squared' Lancs belonged to the 'C' flight, and I believe he is on a photo above.
