    Default 1922 RAF Abbreviations

My apologies if this has been asked before, but can anyone help with the following abbreviations contained within a service record please:

    'S. D. Basrah'; and
    'A. D. Iraq' (Aircraft Depot?)

The man in question was an MT Driver, but served with both 4 and 6 Armoured Car Companies in the Middle East between 1922 - 1927. The NCO was posted back to 'Motor Transport Depot' on the Home Establishment in early 1927, but can anyone tell me where this was located please?

    Many thanks in advance

    Jonny

Thanks for responding chaps. I believe that Aircraft Depot and Stores Depot is correct. I also believe that the MT Depot mentioned in this service record was located at Harlescott, Shrewsbury.

    Kind rgds
