His RCAF record stated:
15 (P) AFU Leconfield
Oxford V3957

At Leconfield on 9. 3. 42 at 16.40 hrs in Oxford V3957 a collision occured with Oxford V3912 piloted by Sgt Lawrence. P/O Dakers was admitted to hospital and died later.

Error of judgment on part of pilot who apparently attempted to carry out a steep climbing turn while his bomb doors were open and stalled the aircraft.
