    ==NOT AN REVISION - just an update!==

    Squadron Leader Alan Chave Jones (41587) [Pilot]
    Attached to No. 22 Squadron (according to RAFCommands profile
    Died 8th April 1942, located the ORB log for April 1942 but no mention of A.C.Jones as a casualty for the April 1942?
    April 1942 Log:http://discovery.nationalarchives.go...mageViewerLink [Image 11 out of 46]
    Casualty summary for April 1942: http://discovery.nationalarchives.go...mageViewerLink [Image 12 out of 46]

    According to the reports, the 22 Squadron was active in Malta (confirmed after checking with F/Sgt Howroyd, who is marked killed in action in the ORB entry for April 1942 casualties) but A.C.Jones' event of death marked in Nottingham. I think it is worth mentioning this here for those who want to look into A.C.Jones. I think he might've been transferred earlier from 22 Sqn to a different one. There is a mention of a Flying Officer Jones, seems to be a different individual. [image 10 out of 46]

    Note* I have a Sergeant Lee as 'wounded in action' for the April 1942 casualty entry but in the RAFCommands marks him as a Warrant Officer. Is this an error? It seems that he died from his wounds. Please correct me if I am wrong.

    I believe this is a fairly common situation with the CWGC Data. a casualty died wearing the ranks of an NCO, but in due course his commission papers come through and he is listed in the DB with his commissioned rank. Several who died as Sgt Pilots or WOs turn up as Pilot Officers in the final Roll.
