    12.11. Beaufighter ?Mk.VI? "Z" crashed on attempting to land at Predannack. P/O Amos killed, Sgt J. D. Walters survived.

    Pilot Officer Herbert Charles Nigel ADAMS (128851) U/T Pilot

    On 11th November 1942 he was flying solo in Oxford I, N4596 doing circuits around the airfield at Wheaton Aston. The aircraft crashed at Lapley to the northwest of Birmingham and P.O. Adams succumbed to his injuries.

    The aircraft had flown into zero visibility and high winds and over Te Marama Station was caught in a downdraught.
