Default loss info needed on 115 Squadron Lancaster LL640, 18-19 March 1944 Frankfurt raid

    Dear all,

Who can supply me with additional info on the loss of 115 Squadron Lancaster LL640 during the 18-19 March 1944 Frankfurt raid? The only info I have is that the aircraft crashed at Föhren, NE of Trier ca 22.30 hrs following an air batttle. Any information welcome!

    Theo,

from Vol Two of my 'For your Tomorrow'

115 Squadron, RAF (Witchford, Cambridgeshire - 3 Group)
Lancaster II LL640/C - took off at 1946 on same raid as the above and brought down over Germany, crashing on farm land 300 metres right of the main road from Baumholder to Berschweiler in the vicinity of Fohren-Linden, 11km SE of Birkenfeld, at about 2230. Taken prisoner, the RAF flight engineer was the sole survivor. His six comrades were buried at Thallichtenberg, 5km SW of Fohren-Linden, but in 1948 reinterred at Rheinberg, 12km south of Wesel. This was another cosmopolitan crew, being made up of four members of the RAF and one each of the RAAF, RCAF and RNZAF.
Captain: NZ42389 Plt Off Allan Stanley FRAMPTON, RNZAF - Age 32. 508hrs. 6th op.
