    Former Caddy Dies After Crash Of Training Plane E. Carl Knauer, 24, former du Pont Manual High School basketball star,
    and later a resident of Bowling Green, died early Saturday at Tuscaloosa, Ala., from injuries received
    Friday when a training plane crashed near Brookwood, Ala. An R.A.F. cadet, Jack Leslie Ford, 23, who was in the plane with Knauer, a civilian instructor of the Alabama Institute of Aeronautics at Tuscaloosa, was injured but his condition was not regarded as serious. Knauer became interested in flying while working as a caddy at the Seneca Park golf course, which is near Bowman Field. He find his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Knauer,
    moved to Bowling Green five years ago, and the youth took up flying eighteen months ago.
