    Default Sunderland with code WH-Y

I am trying to identify the squadron that flew a WW11 Short Sunderland. with the fuselage lettering of WHY. Unfortunately I cannot reader the serial number. Can anyone advise me?

Presumably it's WH-Y*, rather than W-HY. WH is 330 (Norwegian) Squadron, and HY is 88 Sqn, and 330 operated the Sunderland.

Do you have a date? If you have one, perhaps the serial could be in the 330 Sqn ORB?

A quick Google brought up this example of EJ138 WH-Y:

*EDIT: apologies - someone changed the thread title!

Simon thank you for the prompt reply. Yes that fits in as being with a Norwegian squadron.

WH-Y was indeed EJ138 allocated to 330 (RNoAF). On 2nd November 1945 it broke loose from its moorings and drifted onto rocks where it was damaged beyond repair in Trondheim, Norway. It was SOC on 16th November 1945.
