    76879 Captain Middlemost WAWN D.F.C., R.A., attd. 652 (A.O.P.) Sqn, D.F.C. gazetted LG November 8th 1945.

From the Sunderland Echo, February 2nd 1946:

    Sunderland Manís D.F.C.
Capt. Middlemost Wawn, R.A., who for the past three years has been an aerial observation pilot, has been award the Distinguished Flying Cross. He was mentioned in despatches in March last year.
Capt. Wawn, only son of Mrs. E. A. Wawn, of 10 Thornhill Terrace, Sunderland, was educated at Oundle, was given a commission in the Sunderland artillery unit of the Territorial Army in 1938 when he was 18 and was a student at Cambridge University when called to the colours the following year on the outbreak of war.
After three years on anti-aircraft duty he became an aerial observation pilot for the Royal Artillery. He landed on the Normandy beaches on D-Day plus 3 and served right through the campaign with the First Canadian Army until the surrender in Germany. He was acting operational adjutant of his squadron.
Now Capt. Wawn is serving with a squadron in the Far East.

    Regards

    Hello,

    Pse see: https://www.thegazette.co.uk/London/...upplement/1134

CENTRAL CHANCERY OF THE ORDERS OF KNIGHTHOOD. St. James's Palace, S.W.1, 26th February, 1946. The KING has been graciously pleased -to approve the award of the (British Empire Medal (Military Division) in recognition of distinguished service while a prisoner of war, to: — 7537I5 Leading Aircraftman John Oswald WESTON, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve.

Can we have LAC Weston (Met Assistant, PoW Crete) included in this? This singular announcement (see above) is very unusual!

Jagan, I would like to ask if you will be willing to include also awards to Czechoslovak airmen which were not gazetted?
I do not have full details for all but at least I will be able to provide you some basic list like name - date - award - unit.

Jagan, I can later convert my own table into your format in XLS.
The only question - UNIT it is unit where he served when the act for which he was decorated happened?
