    Default Spitfire engines ?

    Hello,
A friend has asked me which was the better engine in the Spitfire Rolls Royce or Packard ? He did not differentuate between a/c Mark or engine mark.
So I expect he wants an "generally speaking" answer.
What should I say to him ?
    Thanks
    Alex

    Alex,

Here's one article on the subject, inconclusive... of course!

Thanks Robert, but can only see half a page, the rest is covered by a yellow block that does not delete when the "x" is pressed.

The ground crew liked the tool sets that came with the American engines!

As far as I'm aware only the Mk XVI had a Packard Merlin, all other marks used the RR versions
