Default LAC 1602627 William Charles Smith

I have a request from a fellow researcher for any information on LAC 1602627 William Charles Smith. It is known this airman was in Canada flying Havard RCAF 2963 at 6 SFTS. According to CWGC his parents were John and Maude Smith of Kidmore End, Oxfordshire. However a John and Maude Smith were living at a different location at Shiplake, Oxfordshire in 1939 but no sign of William living with them, probably away at school. Does anyone know how one can trace a Leading Aircraftsman to confirm where family were living.
    Any information appreciated.

    Autogiro,

The Montreal Gazette of June 25th 1943 has a record of his death, and records his father's address as "Preston," Shiplake, near Henley.

His date of birth is May 18th 1926, according to the Canadian record on ancestry.com, and his residence is the same as reported in the newspaper. His occupation is recorded as 'Machinist.'

There's a Maude Smith, d.o.b. February 14th 1898, on the 1939 Register living in Shiplake, recorded as being 'wife at home'. There are three other entries, but these are closed so he may be one of those. There is also a Charles W. Smith, d.o.b. April 1st 1860 - her father-in law? They also have a servant living with them.

    Regards

    Simon

PS - if you want a copy of the Canadian record, let me know via a PM or e-mail.
