Allen, Sergeant Jeffrey William, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve (742911), Pilot, 6 Elementary Flying Training School, Sywell, Northants, Training Command, 13 November 1939, Died in a Road Traffic Accident, Thought to have been killed when his motorcycle collided with a cow near Leesthorpe, Leics on the Oakham-Melton road, Age 23, Wilford, Notts, West Bridgford (South Wilford) Cemetery, Notts.

Hello

No. 218 Squadron was at the time based at Auberives-sur-Suippe. Battle K8356 crashed near the aerodrome around 2:10 PM during a dive bombing training flight. Port wing broke in flight. The crew was initially buried in Epernay cemetery, and moved to Terlincthun in July 1964. PIKE's brother lost his life on 7 April 1941, flying with No. 7 Squadron.
