Default Loss of Hudson V9032 of No.6 (C)OTU RAF Thornaby

Ingleby Barwick is a large private residential housing estate and civil parish built on what was the southern perimeter of Thornaby airfield in the borough of Stockton-on-Tees.

During the Second World War a number of aircraft crashed where the modern Ingleby Barwick housing estate now stands.

Working with the local Town Council I am helping to create a fitting memorial to remember the 18 aircrew and 4 civilians who lost their lives as a result of these tragic incidents.

I am trying to find any relatives and descendants of any of those who lost their lives so any help would be appreciated.

The information on the casualties is from http://www.yorkshire-aircraft.co.uk/aircraft/yorkshire

I have found further information from CWGC.

I am putting a separate post for each of the 5 incidents.

On 18 December 1941 a Lockheed Hudson V9032 of No.6 (C)OTU stalled soon after takeoff and crashed into Quarry Farm killing the five crew and four civilians.
