Default Sgt. Geoffrey Harry Stubbings 83 Sqdn. - looking for relatives

A heritage from my passed away father contains a RAF Course & Speed Calculator with the name G. Stubbings slightly visible engraved. Searching for that name brought me to Sgt. Geoffrey Harry Stubbings of the 83rd Sqdn who died on the age of 20. Plane Hampden I L4093 was hit by flag and crashed into the sea of Spurn Head on november 14 1940. I would like to get in touch with relatives of the Sgt. to return this Course & Speed Calculator topeople who derve to have this and honot it in memory of this lost man! Any help in my search is welcome! Regards, Ron Witkamp, The Netherlands

    Welcome to the Forum.

There is a family tree on ancestry.co.uk which features Stubbings, and has a portrait photo of him.

Hello Ron. I was amazed to see this post. I am a cousin of Geoffrey Stubbings, removed by one generation. His father, George Stubbings, was my great uncle. My mother, June Stubbings, born 1934, remembers him, just, from gatherings in the 1930s. She has a photo of Geoffrey in his airforce uniform hanging on her wall - this photo is also on my Ancestry page: https://www.ancestry.co.uk/family-tr...88567946/facts
My brother has done a lot of research into Geoffrey - especially the circumstances surrounding his death - and recently visited the Runymede Memorial where Geoffrey's name is inscribed. Amazingly, one of Geoffrey's brothers is still alive, aged 98 and living in Canada. We would be very interested to hear from you and could get Geoffrey's Course and Speed Calculator returned to him.
    Kind regards, Hugh Hillyard-Parker

To avoid duplication of effort I have 'spoken' with Hugh and advised him how to contact Ron.
