Default Trade and Branch - post-war RCAF

Hi I would like to ask if anyone can help me to solve following "mysteries" in RCAF record:

    1) What means NFL? In record is stated he was promoted to the ranks Of "S/L NFL"

    2) what was the description of following branches:
legal - I suppose juridical section f the RCAF?
spec/legal - special department of juridical section of the RCAF?
Misc - I have no idea
pers/admin - I suppose personnel and administrative duties...

    TIA

    Pavel,
I think you are probably on the right track with most of your guesses, and I would presume that "Misc" means that catch-all word "Miscellaneous" (which as the dictionary will tell you means all the the small subjects after you have sorted out logically all the large and obvious ones!). "Spec" in the RAF and other Commonwealth air forces usually meant "Special" as in "Special Duties" which again could mean just about anything apart from Flying, Legal, Medical and general administration. Hope somebody can get more specific than this, and you may have to provide some context to get closer to the real answers.

    Hi Pavel,

Just a guess. NFL after S/Ldr is probably a job description, such as Non Flying Logistics. The context might tell.
