    Dear all,

On the night of the Invasion, 5-6 June 1944, 76 Squadron Halifax LW638 was shot down by Flak and crashed twixt Ver-sur-Mer and Graye-sur-Mer. I am looking for info on the time when the aircraft was shot down, can anybody help?

    Cheers and thanks, Theo

    Hi Theo,

I have checked the service file of F/Sgt Murray (RCAF) as sometimes there are interesting information by the commission looking for casualties after the war (witnesses etc.) but unfortunately for
Halifax LW638 "W" there is only brief burial report and that is all. So I am not able to help more.

    Thanks for checking Pavel!

The aircraft was hit near its target, a gun battery at Mont Fleury -when was the time-over-target for 76 Squadron on this night?

    Cheers, Theo
