7112 AC1 Lionel Alexander GENT RAAF,

7112 AC1 (D.M.T.) Lionel Alexander GENT RAAF (att. to, Personnel Transit Centre, RAAF Pearce, Western Australia), was fatally injured in a Road Traffic Accident on 3 December, 1939. AC1 Gent was riding a motor cycle (with Philip Fuller [civilian]), as a pillion passenger. He collided with a sedan at the intersection of Adelaide Terrace and Bay Street, East Perth. Both were admitted to Perth Hospital with serious injuries, AC1 Gent died soon after admission. A Coronial Inquiry could not determine who was at fault.
A double tragedy for the Gent family - his twin brother, Thomas, had been killed in a truck accident less than three months earlier.
