    Default Sea Hurricane 11/06/1941

    Hi guys

Samuel Hoskin Bunch was killed on the early hours of the 11th June 1941, when his Sea Hurricane crashed into a Swordfish flown by Lt Cross during take off at RNAS Arbroath (880 Squadron). Cross was fine.

Does anyone have a serial for the Sea Hurricane?

    cheers

    Hi Amrit and Henk,

    Henk is correct.

FAA Aircraft 1939-45 has these a/c listed.
    K8370 - 767/769 Sqns.
    V7244 - 880 Sqn.
Swordfish hit the Sea Hurricane on Take off on night flying practice.
The Swordfish went on in service and was Cat X on 4.7.42 after an engine failure.
The Sea Hurricane however was Cat Z and written off 14.6.41.
