    Lamb, Wesley Alfred of St. Thomas, Ontario. RCAF casualty list in the Montreal Gazette (14 Feb 1944) confirms the number you have.

    It seems he was born 9 August 1921 and passed away 6 November 2000.

    Edited to add: R224512 Sgt William Arthur Lamb of St. Catharines, Ontario was an air gunner on board Lancaster LM638, a No. 44 Squadron machine lost on 13 July 1944. He was one of five crew to evade, hence the report in Kew

    FYI, here are the Flak claims details for JB487:

    -103 Sqn Lancaster JB487: hit by 3.-8./schw. Flak Abt. 273, crashed in Vinter Moor, NW of Osnabrück at 21.55 hrs.

    Hi Dave & Theo- Thanks again Dave for the full name information for Wesley Alfred Lamb. Thanks Theo for this flak battery information,I did not expect to get that important information which gives a more exact location where Lancaster JB487 crashed.
