    Hello

The Western Morning News of December 27th 1944 had the following little snippet:

Mr. and Mrs. E Westlake, Trelavour Downs, St. Dennis, have received a card from their younger son, Dennis Henry Westlake, who is a prisoner of war in Germany. Their elder son is also a prisoner of war in Germany. Dennis met a St. Dennis boy in one of the camps - Sgt. Pilot Leslie Grigg.

Hi-Thomas Cook Henderson was the only aircrew fatality on Lancaster JB487 on the 29.12.1943.By chance does any forum member have access to the British Library Newspaper website archive.I have access to this website but only at my local library. There is an article on the 5th or 8th of May,1944 in the Newcastle Evening Chronicle which gives the official statement that he was sadly killed on operations.I think there is a photograph of Thomas in this article.I am seeking this article by e-mail if any forum member is able to obtain it.
    Thanks Again,Philip

Yes, found it. The short snippet reads as follows, with a small photo:

Councillor O. C. and Mrs. Henderson, of 7, Thornygarth, Felling, have received official information that their only son, Sergt. Thomas Cook Henderson, R.A.F.V.R., previously reported missing, was killed on operations over Berlin.

I'll mail it over to you later today Philip.

    regards

Hi-Firstly I do not have access to The National Archives free download as I have gone over the download limit until the 1st of June and I thought I did have the AIR 78's lists for this group of names but I do not.I am asking the forum members to provide the full names of 4 aircrew from Lancaster JB487 who all baled out and became prisoners of war.The 4 aircrew are, A.Fletcher service number 1563032,C.H.Cunning service number 1313818,R.W.Hatherley service number 1587301 and W.A.Lamb RCAF service number R155355. With regard to W.A.Lamb- is his RCAF service number correct as on the internet there is another W.A.Lamb but it cannot be him? His service number needs to be confirmed.
    Thanks,Philip
