The 205 Sqn ORB has the following:

On 28th January PP.107 Captained by Flt. Lt. Hobdey took off from Iwakuni en route for Hong Kong, this aircraft subsequently crashed on Mount Morrision [sic], Formosa (2330N 121 10E) at a height of approximately 8000 ft.
The aircraft was a total wreck and the fourteen occupants killed. A search by aircraft of 88 Squadron from Hong Kong and United States aircraft from Okinawa was carried out for five days, until reports were received from Formosa as to the location of the wreck.
The aircraft was returning to Seletar for inspection and was carrying a crew of five, F. Sgt. Brooks, navigator of 88 Squadron and eight ground personnel of 205 Squadron.

Confusingly press reports in the UK on 6th February 1951 report that either sixteen or seventeen were on board.

    Regards

    Simon
