    Hi Mavis,

Walter Thomas Upton was sent to Stalag Luft 1, Barth (Mecklenburg) Germany.

Liberated by the Russian army on 1 May 1945 and would have been flown out by the USAAF between 12-15 May 1945.

If, as I think, he was born in Bedfordshire in 1921 then he passed there in 1968.

    Kind regards,

    Dave

Thank you so much for this information, he isn't the man I am researching, but like to give an account of all the crew if I can, so it builds a picture of what they all went through. Much appreciated, Kindest regards, Mavis
