    Default Wellington disposal

    Hello Forumites
A general question regarding the scrapping of Wellingtons after WW2. To which MU’s did they tend to go, or were they disposed of at their last “operational” unit

    Andy,

I have no idea mate, but the photos that I have seen indicate they were Coastal Command Wellingtons.

    All the best

As Jonny posted - 45 MU at Kinloss, and perhaps at the related SLG's at Dornoch and Golspie ?

    46MU Lossiemouth possibly ?

18MU at RAF Tinwald Downs (Dumfries)

There will have been other locations in England I am sure but I do not have any relevant books

A selection of Wellington Form 78s and/or the AB publications should a paint picture of where in general they ended their days.
