    Default Sgt John William Davies RAFVR 1625068

    I am looking for information on Sgt John William Davies RAFVR 1625068, who died on 19 April 1944 while with 40 Squadron stationed at Foggia Main Landing Ground in Italy. Can anyone please help?

    Op: Xenia Oil Refinery, Ploesti.

    Lost without trace, but perhaps crashed near Lake Scutari. All are commemorated on the Malta Memorial.

    Took off 1930, Foggia Main, detailed to attack the Xenia Oil Refinery, Ploesti. Lost without trace, but perhaps crashed near Lake Scutari. All are commemorated on the Malta Memorial. The CWGC gives the dates of death, erroneously, as 19 August.
