Default 17 OTU Jan- May 1942

Researching my great uncles time in the RAF. He was a member of the 17 OTU Jan-May 27, 1942. I haven't been able to find anything out about that time. I do have a group picture labelled 40 Course Pilots .. I assume it is from the 17 OTU but not uncles name was James Anderson Mayne. Any advice, help, suggestions would be much appreciated.

Not an expert on this at all, Jo, but I believe the 17 OTU was formed in April 1940 as part of No. 6 Group RAF Bomber Command at RAF Upwood to train light bomber crews using the Bristol Blenheim. It moved to RAF Silverstone in April 1943 to train night bomber crews with the Vickers Wellington.

I am interested in discovering which OTU retrained those aircrews who had flown Bostons to fly the new Mosquitoes.... in 1942 ?
