    Default 2206157 WE Crawford

I am carrying out some very urgent research regarding an Air Gunner, 2206157 Walter Edmond Crawford, who was killed when a Mosquito hit a 35 Squadron Lancaster

Walter was a stand-in air gunner, as the normal crew gunner had been injured in the previous operation

According to my records, this was Walter's one and only operation, but I have no details about when he was posted to the squadron ... so .... a real long shot ..... does anyone happen to have any details about his service prior to being posted to 35 Squadron?.

Your usual help would be much appreciated

    - The History of No. 35 Squadron (1916 - 1982) (

[Always looking for copies of original documents / photographs etc relating to these subjects]
