Default 626 Sqd Pilot F/S Stewart Jacques 1432964

I have his number in the block 1425001 to 1474999 Apr 1941 Cardington.

Is there any more information to narrow the date?

Is there a way to find where he trained in Canada?

    Thanks for any ideas.
    Andrew

    Andrew, Hi,

    Stewart Jacques
    b. 4 Jun 1921 (MMS Wallace) Reg Hinckley 7a 93.
    Q3 1939 Aged 18
    Late-Apr 1941(possibly?) Enlisted 1432964 in Block 1425001-1474999 RAFVR Cardington 01-Apr-41 to 30-Sep-41. Age 19(?). AIR 78/84/28 Image 42 R1C1
    m. Q2 1952 m Rita M Birch Reg Hinckley 3a 1073 (probably) (Two possible progeny)
    d. Nov 1993 Reg Cambridge 3311B B29C 206.

You will have to get his Service Record (https://www.gov.uk/get-copy-military-service-records).
That might, if you are lucky, give you all his postings/dates. If you have problems deciphering the acronyms/short-forms then there are many on this forum who can help.
If “they” needed aircrew desperately at this time then you can work it out. Enlistment. Call-Up 1 week. Kitting/Jabs/ Haircuts/Square-Bashing 6-8 weeks. If he trained in Canada then you can find from the various convoy-webs how long it took to get to Canada. So you have a possible date for ETA Canada. The Canadian SFTS, etc, ORBs might give you his place/date arrival. You might have to burn a lot of ‘midnight oil’!!!

    Thanks Peter.
I know most of our family stuff, but not much about the war part.
Like most returnees from the Stalags not much was spoken about.
I have a good stock of oil.
    Regards,
    Andrew
