    Roy (et al)
    Henry Paterson
    Early Dec-1939(?) Enlisted 996959 in Block 965000-1149977 RAFVR issued Padgate 01-Sep-39 to 31-Mar-41.
    So his birth year/Reg must be before c. 1920 (allowing for serious lying about age!).
    If his birth year/Reg was earlier than 1900, he would probably have been turned away at the Recruiting Office (my father was!)
    You can have (in England & Wales from FREEBMD):-
    Q3 1906 PATERSON Henry (MMS nil) Marylebone 1a 540
    Q3 1916 Paterson Henry (MMS Watts) W. Derby 8b 903
    Q4 1919 Paterson Henry (MMS Search) W. Derby 8b 1220
    Q3 1920 Paterson Henry (MMS Etherington) Auckland 10a 542
    Auckland is as near to Yorkshire as I can get – but I think we are grasping at straws here?

    [QUOTE=Roy Nixon1;
    Also claimed on 92 sqn on 28-2-42, 1-Me109G Damaged while at LG173, Egypt. 92 sqn on 21-1-43 1-Ju87 Probable S/Castel Benito, Tripoli.

    I've tried to find these Combat Reports from the actual free download at Kew, but they didn't show up in the AIR 50 series. There's another Paterson/Patterson in the 92 Squadron's CRs, but he was an officer and it was much earlier. Would appreciate additionnal informations about these
