Seems to be an irregular number of "T"s in Pat/t/erson?
Have we got the right bloke?

Thanks to Joss Leclerq for the head's up- I can add the following from my files:

F540 shows: 9/12/41 Arrival from OTU of Sgt’s Haddon, Moore, Patterson and Young.

    1/1/42 Pilots 'B' Flight:

    F/Lt Offenberg DFC (Belgian)

    F/O Malengreau (Belgian)

    P/O de Selys (Belgian)

    P/O Rigler DFM

    P/O van Schaick DFM

    P/O Nash

    P/O Osborn

    Sgt Dickson (NZ)

    Sgt McConnell (NZ)

    Sgt Patterson

    Sgt Stock (Canadian)

    Sgt Moore.

Jan. 28 Red and Yellow Sections airborne on convoy patrol at 08:15 in good weather conditions, leaders F/Lt de Spirlet and P/O Hughes-Rees. P/O Osborn and Sgt Paterson fly to Cosford in the Tiger Moth to fetch a Spitfire, after an abortive attempt in the morning, owing to mist.

14/03/42 F/Sgt Dolan (Canadian), Sgt Paterson, and the 3 NZ Sergeants are all posted to Digby S.HQ pending posting overseas. The flying of most of them has been limited to an occasional Flight in the Maggie.

Babe Haddon spells Paterson in his diary (Christmas presents list)

Bob Walling's (Groundcrew F/Sgt) Diary: 18/12/41 We received several new additions to the squadron, all Sergeant pilots. Sgt's McConnel, Dickson, who are two fine lads and come from New Zealand, and Sgt’s Young and Patterson, and the ‘Babe’ who looks about 15 years old.
