    400117 - Unaccounted Airmen - 17-01-1940

    UK
    BARR, George Francis - AC2c - 986006 - RAFVR - 1 BTU.
    Glasgow ( St. Peters ) Roman Catholic Cemetery, Glasgow.

    Henk's error,
    Correct date for this airman's loss was 17-01-1941.

    Hello,

    Chris Hobson, in his, Failed To Return Part 2, A-B (p.413), records AC2 Barr's unit as , No.1 Balloon Training Unit, Cardington, Bedfordshire, Balloon Command, and his death, simply as "Died, Glasgow" (implyiing accident/Illness). Date of Death recorded as, 17 January, 1941.

    BARR, George Francis - AC2 - He was serving with No 1 Balloon Training Unit, and died in Stobhill Hospital from broncho-pneumonia.

    Hi Malcolm out of interest how did you get the actual cause of death ? Did you access the death cert or another source ? Thanks Paul
