I wonder if anybody can help confirm the first names of any of these 78 Squadron aircrew:

ASHBY, Flight Lieutenant James Frederick, DFC.
NZ413169; Born Nelson, 15 Mar 1921; RNZAF 25 May 1941 to 3 Oct 1946; Pilot.
Citation Distinguished Flying Cross (17 Jul 1945): [78 Sqn RAF (Halifax)] As deputy Flight Commander and captain of aircraft, Flight Lieutenant Ashby has an outstanding record of operations. He has attacked most of the heavily defended targets in enemy-occupied territory. On one occasion his aircraft was attacked by two enemy fighters, which kept up a running combat for 15 minutes before Flight Lieutenant Ashby, with skill and coolness, succeeded in evading them. On another of his sorties the elevator controls of his aircraft sustained severe damage and one turret was rendered unserviceable. Despite these difficulties this officer flew the aircraft safely to base. He has never failed to press home his attacks with outstanding gallantry and determination. Flt Lt Ashby flew one sortie with 76 Sqn RAF (Halifax) to gain operational experience before serving as an instructor. He later flew 35 sorties with 78 Sqn.

Do you have more variants of the serial for F/O R H ANDERSON? What was his trade?

J26294 was Thomas James CHIVERTON

Sadly all I have is that he was a Navigator. I have another which is R220991 Sgt R F Anderson RCAF I wonder if this is him before he was commissioned?
