    Hi Steve

    In your post you state

" it is easy to see that the RAF would find it difficult to have certain words appear on a public memorial. "

I would just like to point out that RAF Scampton is not, and never has been a public place. Visits can be arranged for visitors who would no doubt be aware of the history of the base.

    All the best.

    Mike

    AHello Mike,
If what you say is correct then how is it that the removal was at the instruction of the Council Mayor as I understand happened.

    Hi Alex

RAF Scampton is an MOD property overseen by the RAF. It is not open to the public therefore cannot have a public memorial. The mayor has no jurisdiction nor does the MP, Sir Edward Leigh who also claims to have been responsible. It seems like everybody and his dog was involved.

The RAF seems to have simply rolled over.

I have emailed RAF Scampton but have not had the courtesy of a reply.

    Mike
