Default The Longest Name in the RAF

I thought the longest names belonged to my compatriots in Southern India, but apparently not!

Flying Officer Pierre Marie Raoul Ghislain DE THEUX DE MEYLANDT ET MONTJARDIN (132968) of the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve

Someone once made the observation about a highly decorated individual with other, additional, honorifics, and an equally long name - that his letterhead would have had to printed in landscape rather than portrait in order to fit it all in the one line!

Not RAF, but a long name:

Jacques Marie Antoine Robert Valdemar Charles Flix Sixte Ansgar prince de Bourbon de Parme (1922-64) served in the Norwegian Air Force 1940-1945. I most cases he would be called Prince Jacques de Bourbon-Parme.

Though not an RAF man and whilst not in the same league as the names above, I served with a rather posh and charming Army officer who was undertaking his helicopter instructors course at Tern Hill. His name was Dermot Blundells-Hollingshead-Blundells. Much to his disgust, the RAF reduced this to: Blundells-squared-Hollingshead.
