    Default P/O B R Garnett 2092-44 KIA WWII?

    Hi All,

We have a request from someone in Germany who has the jacket to a P/O B R Garnett 2092-44. Our records show a P/O B R Garnett KIA 18/7/44 KIA 16900 with 158 Sqn.
This number looks wrong to us can anyone advise any date on this service number.

    Thanks,

John Williams, Assistant Archivist 158 Sqn.

    John, Hi,
11th Oct. 1943. 1238607 Flt Sgt Bateman Redge GARNETT Cmd Plt Off(p) RAFVR (169000) GD
CWGC record his s/n as 169000.
Can't see anything wrong with the number. 2nd Forename looks slightly strange - but Cmd and CWGC use same!

    Hello

Bateman Redge Garnett is indeed his name. His father was Henry Redge Garnett (1886-1943).

2092-44 is not an RAF Service number. Without being able to see it could it not be a Tailor's mark or laundry mark?

Bateman Redge Garnett 169000 RFVR was a Flying Officer when he was lost.
