Default Spitfire VB Fuel consumption cross channel sweep

Does a Spitfire landing with 5 gallons of fuel remaining appear unusual in respect of normal consumption circumstances. 5 Gallons of fuel remaining must equate to very limited flying tolerances for a Spitfire VB.

5 Gallons must be just about down to 'Unusable Fuel'.
There would be quite a few reasons for landing whilst low on fuel inc.....

Having to use combat power settings for a lengthy period
Having to fly low level at high power setting whilst evading enemy fighters
    Adverse wind/wrong wind forecast
    Navigational error
    Bad weather (heavy cloud/rain)
Combat damage to engine and/or fuel system
    Damaged/inaccurate compass.
