    Default Blenheim 5947 8/12/40 17 OTU

Back to the same log book mentioned in the previous post. There is an
entry on the 8/12/40 while with 17 OTU as follows:

8/12/40 Blenheim 5947 F/Lt Atkinson A+E Test HTP (Hit Telegraph Pole)

I was wondering if anybody might know the full serial for the aircraft. I assume
it was on strength with 17 OTU, and the monthly total is signed off by F/Lt Newberry
who was (according to the log) the OC of the Towing Flight.

I am not sure how badly damaged the aircraft was, but any information would be great.

    Hi Johnnie,

I gues it was Z5947 accordit to RAF serials by Air Britain:

Z5947 Blenheim IV 17 OTU crashed after control lost in cloud, East Leake, Notts. 2.11.41, possibly due to icing.

So it looks like your accident was not so serious...
