Default Nos 302 and 317 Squadron RAF

    G'day,

I am at a loss here. What "Wing" was No. 302 and 317 Squadron RAF part of in late July 1943?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Stephen

In July 1943 these squadrons were not allocated to Airfields (later renamed Wings)

302 was at Kirton-in-Lindsay, 317 was at Martlesham Heath.

They joined No 131 Airfield at Northolt, along with 308 Sqn on 4 Oct 1943 when it was formed.

They formed No 3 Polish Fighter Wing. This was a Polish structure not related to the British one.
