Sg WGG Duncan-Smith, 7 OTU, 11-10-40.

In Duncan-Smith's excellent 'Spitfire into Battle' he mentioned that on 11-10-40 on 7 OTU while landing he collided with Anson P9395 piloted by a Polish pilot. Can anyone provide details of this collision. I asked this question on the Forum many years ago with out success, can any one provide the answers please.

"11.10.40 -Spitfire I, P9395 wrote off with engine pushed through bulkhead. The Anson pilot who was Polish received cuts to face and cracked ribs, his navigator suffered severe shock. D-S was fit enough to transfer to 611 sqn at Digby the next day."

Possibly taken from 'Wings Across the Border', but there is no index and I have been unable to confirm.
