Many thanks,

Hi Roy,
Do you happen to know if he had a brother in the RAF named Gerry Haggas? I was in touch with Gerry 10 years or so ago. If so, perhaps there is a way to locate the family.

Roy,
You will find a nice shot of F/Sgt Haydn 'Vic' Haggas in the following publication:
185: The Malta Squadron.
Rogers,Anthony (Editor)
Staplehurst:Spellmount,2005
See between pp.148-9.
The caption to the photograph reads:
(No.21) Flight Sergeant Haydn 'Vic' Haggas (left) from the UK, was lost on 7 July 1942; New Zealander Flight Sergeant 'Pop' Conway crash-landed and was seriously injured on 21 June. (Both airmen are sitting on a motor bike [Conway pillion]).
There is also a group shot (No.28), of 185 Sqn's 'A' Flight (mid-1942), which includes F/Sgt Haydn 'Vic' Haggas*.
* Same shot appears in Malta:The Spitfire Year 1942/Shores et al/Grub St.,1991. p.362 (photo dated 20 June, 1942).
PS. Haggas' other nickname was 'Haggard Haggis'.
Col.
